 ForageUltra is a spring annual seed blend that includes three
varieties of true forage soybeans, peas, and sweet sorghum designed to provide a
blanket of green forage throughout the growing season and provide natural cover
for whitetails to browse in. The soybeans include two different stalk varieties
growing 5-6ft. tall and a long maturity soybean that grows vines up to 20 ft.
long. Both soybean varieties produce bean pods as well. We use a very palatable
cowpea variety that is very attractive to whitetails. The exotic sweet sorghum
variety grows and average of 10 ft tall; it is very sweet and attractive to
whitetails. the variety of sorghum acts as a support plant for the vine
soybeans, allowing the plant to grow up the stalk and reach for sunlight. This
blend is unique because it provides +25% protein and up to 12 tons of plant
matter per acre. Keep your Forage Ultra plot weed free by applying pre merge
herbicides such as Pursuit, Prowl or Squadron.
“The jungle plot”, Forage Ultra is a spring annual seed blend that includes
forage soybeans, cowpeas, sorghums and kenaf. This blend is designed to offer
cover and high protein enriched food source throughout the growing season.

Planting Zones: For all zones plant seeds when the threat of frost has
expired and the soil temperature is 60F.

Tips on planting ForageUltra:
- Disk or apply a non-selective herbicide with Synurgize (Round Up, etc.)
to kill all unwanted grasses and weeds in the plot area.
- Apply starter fertilizer and lime according to soil test or 200-250lb of
13-13-13 and lime equivalent to raising soil pH to desired plant target
level.
- Disk or plow again to incorporate fertilizer lime inputs into the soil,
this will allow for better root absorption.
- Use a harrow to drag food plot area; this will establish a flat smooth
area for broadcasting seed at the right depth.
- Broadcast your ForageUltra seed blend evenly over the food plot area,
use the harrow to cover seed with soil.
- Apply a pre-emerge herbicide with Synurgize after you cover your
ForageUltra seed with soil. We recommend using Pursuit or Prowl H2O, when
using pesticides always follow label directions. This will keep weeds out of
your ForageUltra food plot.
- Apply Nutri-Plot Fertilizer & Attractant when plants are 2 inches tall
allow 3-4 weeks and spray again. The ForageUltra™ plants will be too tall to
spray after 4 weeks of growth.
